My run is on!

Pauline Raven, an experienced two-term municipal Councillor announced March 15, 2019, that she is seeking the Liberal nomination in the riding of Kings-Hants where Scott Brison served as MP for over 22-years.

“Good government starts with good, hard-working people,” says Raven. “Liberal governments have proven that many times over. I’m eager to add to that history.”

Raven is a natural-born activist. She started when she was just 14-years old with a “War on Want” anti-poverty action in high school and never looked back. Over decades her campaign work has also included being the author of the Nova Scotia Child Poverty Report Card for 10-years, protection of our environment, the fight for women’s rights and racial justice, and the preservation of farmland through fundraising for the Annapolis Valley Farmland Trust.

She has never been afraid to take on tough issues and projects that are good for people. She makes winning a group effort, always working side by side with friends, neighbours and communities to see progress.

Since 2012 she has pursued her drive to achieve good government by working from the inside, winning election and re-election to the Kings County Council.

Over all these years, Raven has established herself as a hard worker who gets results.

“It’s always seemed straight forward to me,” she says. “If you believe in something you’ve got to be ready to work for it, to give 100 per cent. I’ve lived my whole life that way and I’m not about to stop now.

“I believe in the Liberal Party’s goals. As we approach the 2019 federal election, our future and national purpose will be best served with a re-elected Liberal government in Ottawa. I believe I am the best person the Liberals can choose to achieve that re-election goal and to continue the positive momentum Scott brought to Kings-Hants.

The work of an MP benefits from having previous political experience in the trenches because knowing and understanding how government works is greatly advantageous to getting results. It’s Raven’s goal to put her work in the trenches and experience to work for Kings-Hants.

“I look forward to bringing a brave and bold message to my fellow Liberals in Kings-Hants at the upcoming Nomination Meeting. That times do not allow for anything less. Being brave and bold is the only way we can be sure of building an ever-stronger Canada that’s a safe home for all of us. That’s the way to measure our success. It’s the only way for all of us to go from strength to strength.”
